We are pleased to present Play Like The Dickens, our annual fundraiser for the Richard Dickens Music Scholarship, on Wednesday, March 11 at 7:30 pm in the Kamloops Full Gospel Tabernacle, 1550 Tranquille Road.
Dickens was a long-time Kamloops school music teacher, and the founder of the band. He passed away in 2009 and proceeds from this event will go toward the scholarship named for him, which provides $2,000 per year for four years to a student who has shown exemplary aptitude and achievement in music and is continuing in full-time music studies at the post-secondary level.
Highlights of the concert include an exciting march or two (Dickens’ favourite), selections from several Disney films, and several familiar melodies.
Joining us on stage will be the Kamloops School of the Arts Chamber Choir, a student-led ensemble at the school.
